The technique chosen for these works is The Grattage, literally "scratching", "scraping", it is a technique of surrealist painting which consists in scratching the still fresh paint on different materials with the aim of bringing out from the scratches created, the colors of the underlying pictorial layers generating chromatic and chiaroscuro contrasts. With this technique Alessia Dionisi gives life to her paintings with subjects that express a form of thought entitled

"HUMAN MECHANISM"

The human being is characterized not only by the awareness of being such and mortal, but also and above all by his own contradictions and mechanical instincts that guide existence in an unconscious way. A critical dialogue, memory notes and labyrinths of thoughts ... from the birth of a mechanism, to the pursuit of an illuminating thought that, like a spider, weaves its own web, the encounter between a rational and an irrational part, a confrontation, a given appointment in the absence of time.

Sign and light: by scratching off the paint I let the light emerge from the shadow, revealing the painting through the hatching of an iron point on glass.
